Bell & Ross is one of the newest watch companies to take the world by storm over the last 20 years. This French watch company headed by Swiss designers has always carried the reputation of manufacturing an efficient chronometer to meet the needs of the most exacting user. Bell & Ross has managed to create an exquisite line of wristwatches that balances its consumer’s need for durable functionality and luxury. Founded in 1992 by childhood friends Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosillo, Bell & Ross has been dedicated to designing watches based on performance, legibility, and reliability. Every last detail of their watches has been created for a specific purpose or function. They have achieved great success by following the simple idea of “function shapes form.” In order to get the company off on the right foot, Bell & Ross collaborated with German watchmaker, Sinn, who specialized in the production of dashboard meters. This collaboration produced the Space 1 and the Hydro models. The Space 1 was the first automatic chronometer to be worn in space. The Hydro Challenger model went on to achieve the world water resistance record under the Guinness Book of Records for being water resistant up to 11,000 meters. These models helped Bell & Ross achieve their identity as being an efficient chronometer, leading NATO and the Air Force to adopt these watches. In 1996, Bell & Ross created the Disposal Type watch for the French security service’s bomb disposal squad, further cementing their name as a quality timepiece for professionals everywhere. In order to meet the precise needs of the bomb squad, Bell & Ross produced this watch with an anti-magnetic, A-magnetic case. In 2002, Bell & Ross ended their partnership with Sinn and opened up their own independent production in their facilities in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. One year later, Bell & Ross decided to expand their women’s line by introducing the world to the Mystery Diamond, a watch that hides the mystery of its lightness by using a floating diamond which turns between the crystal and the dial to show the time. By 2005, Bell & Ross launched their iconic piece, the BR 01 Instrument. This watch was designed to replicate the shape of a cockpit instrument taken from an aircraft and is the model they are now known best for. Bell & Ross has proven over the last 20 years to be a timepiece for all people, ranging from the most elegant woman to the man with an extreme career, such as an astronaut, pilot, or bomb squad experts.
